The Butterfly Effect Award

The Butterfly Effect Award
Butterfly border

The Butterfly Effect Award is an award that Mr. Estes spoke of on opening day.  It is based on the book The Butterfly Effect  by Andy Andrews.  The book looks at the question "How significant is my life? " and looks at what is now known as "The Law of Sensitive Dependence Upon Initial Conditions".  In simple terms, this law states that small actions, even as small as a butterfly flapping its wings can have enormous long-term impacts on nature, society and the world.

We want to recognize, and have others within our district recognize, the actions of our employees that are making a difference in the lives of our students, their families, our employees and our community, regardless of how small they may seem.

Congratulations September's Butterfly Effect Award Winner!

"The HCHS Custodial Team has exemplified Servant Leadership in their dedication and effort to ensuring our school was ready for students to learn the first day of school.  Without their love for our kids, their commitment to doing excellent work, and the pride they take in their work, students and staff would not have been able to have the incredibly positive experience they had the first week of school.  I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of these team members."--Ashley Gorman

Fellow Nominees

LHuff

 Lori Huff

"Lori goes above and beyond in her role as a substitute particularly as a long term sub. She collaborates with other teachers, seeks out engaging lessons for her students and constantly checks herself to make sure, as Lori says, “I’m doing right by these kids”. On Labor Day, Lori was at school with her own children planning for the week ahead. She is giving, loving and a huge asset to Hancock County Schools."--Tiffany Tindle

Greg Payne
Chris Garrison
Beau Case

"Because our IT team is unparalleled.  Greg, Chris, & Beau are patient and hard-working, and they do excellent work always.  We are incredibly blessed to have such a dedicated team as part of our school family at HCHS.  Even when it interrupts their plans and schedule, the IT team is willing to help solve any problems we have, to help us learn new technologies and systems, and on occasion, fix our mistakes."--Ashley Gorman
