Non-Traditional Instructional Day 2020 for K/1
Parents please choose one activity from each area daily. Please send ALL work to school with your child upon returning to school.
Kindergarten Reading
- 30 minutes Compass Learning (username-firstlast name password-1234 school-north hancock es)
- Practice sight words
- 20 minutes of reading-Record on the reading log
- Word Sorts
- You’ll have 2 books-Read and do the Think and Share on a separate piece of paper. This book will need to be sent back to school.
1st Grade Reading
- 30 minutes Compass Learning (username-firstlast name password-1234 school-north hancock es)
- Practice sight words
- 20 minutes of reading-Record on the reading log

Math
- Review math pages
- Play math games with family
- 30 minutes Compass or Zearn.com-K/1 student do this in their math class-(students know their username and password- 1234)
Writing
- Kindergarten – Draw and label a picture of what you will do this summer. Write 2 sentences about your picture.
- First Grade – Write a paragraph about the following:
What do I want to be when I grow up?
Remember that a paragraph contains a main idea sentence, a detail sentence, an example sentence and a wrap it up (concluding) sentence.
- What is your favorite sport and why? Kindergarten write at least 2 sentences. First grade write at least 4 sentences and be sure to edit your writing.
