8th Graders' Nickel Tax Presentation
Several 8th graders from Mr. Roberts' civics class presented on the middle school's need for the Nickel Tax at the May 23, 2019 Hancock County Board of Education monthly meeting. Separate groups took on different tasks such as investigating air quality, the condition and size of the structure, contacting the news media and spreading their message via social media, and learning about bonding capacity and how the tax will work. The Board assured the students they would consider all of the information they collected before deciding on the Nickel Tax again.
