Trauma Informed Care: August 12, 2025

Trauma-informed care in schools involves a shift in perspective and practice to recognize and respond to the impact of trauma on students and staff, fostering a safe and supportive environment for learning and well-being.

School administrators play a crucial role in implementing and sustaining
rauma-informed approaches, which includes strategic planning, staff training, and integrating trauma-informed principles into various aspects of school operations

Abram DeJarnette

Hancock County High School
Abram DeJarnette scored 1st Chair Alto Saxophone in the All-State Concert Band! Abram scored in the top 5 of all students in the state on Alto Saxophone. He tied with two other students for the 3rd highest score.
He will represent Hancock County at the annual KMEA Conference in February (Louisville, KY). This is the highest individual honor possible for a high school musician.
There have only been six other students in the history of Hancock’s band program (established in 1970) that have been selected for the All-State Bands.
